Any tips of preparing for upcoming pageants?

Tia: TIP 1 In the build up to a competition i always research the pageant im entering Is it glitz? natural? semi glitz? I also find out what are all the rounds cause ecah competition differs, for example if its a natural beauty pageant and fashion wear I would go for High street fashion clothes from New look, River island, etc BUT if it was a Glitz competition then the outfits tend to be something custom made or something that stands out and wows the judges.

Go to their Facebook pages, websites and interact with other contestants, its nice to make friends before the day so you will be more relaxed and not as nervous for when you arrive. Making friends is one of the most important reasons I enter pageant, I've made so many close friends.

Practice - I will practice every night in the week before a pageant, I practice my footwork, poise, how to stand and pose. Practice makes perfect, and the more you practice the more you will become a natural on the catwalk, for tips I look up You tube videos.

Practice your hair and make up if your entering a Glitz pageant, again You tube has some amazing tutorial videos

The week before do a check list, for all outfits, accessories, shoes, hair products, make up, hair curlers, mirror, and an extension lead comes in handy as sometimes their isn't enough and you have to wait till one is free.

Book your appointments for any Spray Tans, nails, beauty treatments

If you have never entered a pageant before then check our Pageant coaches who offer training and tips on catwalk, routines, interview techniques, outfits. Chance 2 Sparkle pageant coaching is available on facebook or through email to leanne@missnaturalsparkle.com

Any tips for on the stage?

A way to feel relaxed when on stage is to practice in front of people your parents, friends, family. You could also book a photo shoot with a photographer who will give tips on smiling and posing this has helped me lots.

Remember to have fun, be yourself, smile and make lots of friends. The whole experience will be one to remember and each one you learn from, you may not win the first time, or even the 5th time but remember ask directors for feedback look at your scores and go away and learn from them. Every judge and system has their own score sheets and what may be good for one person may not for another. Every competition entails you to work hard, and may take 2-3 attempts at entering before you win.
